2023-04-01 Local clubs amalgamating
In a move usually only seen on Wall Street, the West Carleton Amateur Radio Club (WCARC) has made a hostile takeover bid for the OARC and the OVMRC.
The executive members of all three clubs were unavailable for comment and are reported to be examining their club constitutions with legal representatives to see if such a merger/acquisition is even possible.
A rep who spoke on condition of anonymity said that one of the major sticking points is what dues would be charged by the amalgamated club. Since it will be providing 3 times the benefit of each individual club, the proposal is to combine the dues amounts and add a one-time levy to cover legal costs. It is expected that a one-year membership would cost $99.

Updates on the progress of these talks will be provided when available.
