Rideau Challenge Journey Needs Radio Ops

For the second year, radio amateurs have been asked to assist the Rideau Challenge Journey, an event that has been taking place since 1990. The event is held on Mother's Day weekend. It involves a simplex net and it takes place along the Rideau Trail from Merrickville to north of Roger Stevens Rd. There aren't any repeaters that cover the complete area. There will be over a hundred youth out on the trail hiking upwards of 30 km from Saturday morning until early Sunday afternoon. Radio ops are needed to report the various groups as they enter and leave the checkpoints along the way.
