2025-05-24 OARC Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) training course - Report

The OARC Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) training course on May 24-25, 2025 delivered two days of classroom and hands-on learning about how to prepare for and participate effectively in providing radio-communications support during an emergency or natural disaster. OARC Basic Amateur Radio Course -
Spring 2025 - Report

|
The spring 2025 OARC Basic Amateur Radio course ran from February to May 2025. This hybrid course ran for three hours every Sunday for 12 weeks. It covered all 100 Basic exam topics. The course itself was very well attended, despite students having to endure regular “dad jokes”! So far, 23 of our students have passed the ISED exam (three basic and 20 with honours)…

OARC Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 - NOTICE

The OARC Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 6:45PM in place of our regular Monthly Meeting.

It will be held at Scouts Headquarters at 1345 Baseline Road This meeting will be in-person only. There will be no Zoom feed.

OARC "Come meet the new hams" BBQ and group photo

Everyone is invited to the OARC "Come meet the new hams" BBQ and group photo at Scouts Headquarters.

Proceeds from the BBQ will go to the Scouts Canada National Museum. The new hams BBQ coincides with OARC Field Day 2025 in the same location.

OARC Radio in the Park 2025
|
|
|
Get involved with OARC Radio in the Park on Sept 13! This OARC activity is aimed at demonstrating Amateur Radio equipment and communications ability to other hams and the general public in an outdoor setting.

Local Amateur Radio operators along with friends and family set up portable stations in a local park. In recent years, this has been Walter Baker Park.

OARC Basic Amateur Radio course - Fall 2025
|
|
|
The OARC Basic Amateur Radio course prepares you to write the exam for your Amateur Radio Operator Certificate with Basic Qualification. The course covers all 100 Basic exam topics over 12 weeks. All course materials are provided.

Start date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
Duration: 2:00pm to 5:00pm, every Sunday for 12 weeks
Format: Hybrid
Cost: $100 Regular, $80 Student
