OARC Soldering Skills Workshop (Winter 2026)

Join us for the OARC Soldering Skills workshop (Winter 2026)!
|
Three, fun, hands-on sessions where you will develop soldering skills for antenna and coax cable assembly. It is designed to complement the upcoming antenna-building workshop(s).
|
Three Sundays (29 March, 26 April, 3 May) from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
|
Cost: $25 for OARC members / $35 for non-members

Ottawa Amateur Radio operators will join others worldwide, taking to the airwaves in celebration of amateur radio and commemorating the formation of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) on April 18, 1925.

I recently had the opportunity to review a tabletop game with an Amateur Radio theme. Simply named "Propagation," it's a card- and dice-based game. The goal of the game is simple: to gain points by making QSOs.

A big thank you to the 20+ Ottawa-area radio operators who ran a controlled net on commercial digital radios for health, safety, and logistics traffic at the 2026 Canadian Ski Marathon (CSM).

OARC Basic Course - Fall 2025 - Report
|
|
|
The fall 2025 OARC Basic Amateur Radio course ran from late October until the end of January, 2026. So far, 26 of our students passed the ISED exam (most with honours). In addition, six of them also passed the Advanced. A hearty welcome to all these new hams!
