Next Meeting March 9, 2016

For the March meeting, Greg (VE3YTZ) will be speaking about extension cords, including the various types, maximum lengths, their care and storage. Rick (VE3IHI) will demonstrate how to properly wind and store an extension cord.The meeting starts at its usual 7:30 pm, in the Colonel By Room of Ottawa City Hall. Hope to see you there!.Members are reminded that executive meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, and are open to members. Contact the executive for details.Regular Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, at 19:30L (except July and August).We meet at Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue, on the second floor. It is easiest to come in from the Lisgar street entrance.Or catch us on Mondays at 20:00L on the Capital City FM Net using the club repeater VE2CRA(146.940- 100hz CTCSS).

OARC members operated in the 2015 Winter RAC Contest

OARC members operated from Canada's Cold War Museum, also known as the Diefenbunker, using the call sign VE3CWM. As Dave Green (VE3TLY), Contest Captain explained: "the 2015 activation of VE3CWM is our best yet from the Diefenbunker." A quick summary of the claimed results are:

VE2CRA: VHF and UHF repeaters now linked.

We have recently made changes to VE2CRA, the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club's local 2m and 70cm repeaters
