About the Groundwave
The Groundwave is/was the OARC’s official bulletin. It was published from 1950 to 2021. Ian Jeffrey, VE3IGJ, was the editor for the last 17 years, and the OARC membership are truly grateful for his long and dedicated service. As far as Ian can recall, Mike Kelly, VE3FFK, holds the record for the longest continuous stretch of articles – longer than Ian’s tenure. We are happy to say that Mike is continuing to contribute articles which we will publish in the columnists section here on the website until a new Groundwave editor is found.
Missing past issues
The OARC library is missing the following Groundwave issues. If you have any of them, please let us know. We would like to scan them and add them to the archive.
Thanks!

Past issues
The past issues are all stored as PDFs, some of which can be quite large. Issues prior to 2000 are stored as PDF image files, which means there is no searchable text within them. From 2000 on, the PDFs include full text and images. The long term plan is to use OCR on the older issues to make the content searchable.
Searching Groundwave content
This site currently does not index or search the Groundwave PDFs. Groundwave content is NOT directly searchable with the search accessed via the magnifying glass icon at the right end of the menu bar.
However, once you open one of the Groundwaves, you can search the issue as long as it is NOT one of the unconverted images-only issues.
Dig into the archive … it looks different
The Groundwave archive has a different format than other OARC web pages. It behaves more like a nest of folders you would find on your desktop computer. It will open in a new browser tab so you can get back to the website just by switching tabs.
