MS Bike 2026 Ottawa to Cornwall – Community Event

Get involved in providing radio-communications support for MS Bike 2026 – Ottawa to Cornwall, Aug 15-16
Operators are needed for Amateur Radio safety checkpoints and net control for this two-day event. Nicole, VE3GIQ, (psevents@ovmrc.ca) is organising the ham radio aspects and looking for volunteers. Nicole has provided these notes so you’ll know a bit more about what to expect and what information she needs from you when you volunteer:
- Similar venue as last year
- We have more options for tracking this year
- Doing more extensive testing of comms and APRS this year
- We will need again embedded mobiles, fixed rest stop and observers
If you wish to volunteer here is what I need to know:
- Basic info First and Last name, Call Sign, and E-Mail
- Cell Phone number
- Availability (Saturday, Sunday or both)
- Fixed or Mobile assignment (both need power) and a hand held
- Mobiles are embedded
- Will need up to 3 Observers. Other fixed are at stops (5 + 2)
- Mobiles must be APRS capable, fixed not
- Your QTH (helps in assignment)
- If you have beaconing equipment (no amateur embedded)
