Partner with us!
The Ottawa Amateur Radio Club (OARC) partners with various types of community organizations, such as groups that have historically been involved with Amateur Radio and groups focussed on local emergency preparedness and response to natural disasters.

For the OARC, community partnerships are a key part of ensuring the Club’s sustainable longer-term growth and relevance. The OARC works to raise awareness and understanding of Amateur Radio as a hobby and a public service among members of its partner organizations. And, for the partner organization, this collaboration helps build their Amateur Radio capacity, facilitating an increase in trained Amateur Radio operators in their ranks.
The OARC also collaborates widely with the broader Amateur Radio community, which includes other local Amateur Radio clubs and organizations across the country and around the world.

West Carleton Disaster Relief
The OARC works closely with West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR), whose volunteers focus on disaster response in West Carleton, providing assistance to affected neighbours in times of crisis through volunteer management and effective coordination of local recovery efforts. Amateur Radio is another tool in the WCDR community resilience and emergency preparedness tool box. It is a reliable, low-tech option that connects people and communities with the help they need during a natural disaster, and it works even if traditional cell phone, internet, and satellite communications are unavailable.
Scouts Canada Voyageur Council
The OARC works closely with Scout Canada Voyageur Council which serves over 3,500 youth in 100 Groups throughout Eastern Ontario and the Outaouais. Through the OARC, Amateur Radio operators are actively involved in providing radio-communications support to events such as Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) / Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI).
Our broader Amateur Radio community
The OARC is part of an active local community of Amateur Radio clubs and is affiliated with local, national and global Amateur Radio organizations.
