Better than the rest …
Quick summary
Wayne VE3CZO has designed and built a continuity tester that has many features he found lacking in other units. He has purchased and packaged all the parts needed to build the tester as a kit. Many people have ordered the kit, but planned build sessions at the uOttawa Richard L’Abbé Makerspace had to be postponed due to Covid restrictions.
Advantages of this tester
- Bright LED and loud buzzer to indicate continuity
- Instant response time
- Low open circuit voltage
- Warns of DC voltages on probes
- Tolerates DC voltages on the test leads
- Operates from single LiPo cell
- Rechargeable from any 5V supply
- LEDS show charge state
- Auto power off
- Low current consumption
- … and much, much more!
Video update on kit status
At the 2021-10-13 OARC meeting, Wayne presented an update on the kit status. The recorded video appears below.
