About the event
The money raised by participants in this event ensures that people affected by MS receive quality access and support that they need in whichever community they live. There are MS Bike rides planned at 12 in-person locations across Canada. For more details about the event locations please consult the MS Bike website.
The two-day bicycle ride from Ottawa to Brockville covers 90km or 100km each day (rider’s choice!). The route is filled with beautiful views of the Rideau River with stops along many quaint towns on the way to Brockville. This is a fully supported cycling event with food and refreshments at each rest stop along the route as well as a celebratory finish line, dinner and evening ceremony in Brockville.
Call for volunteer radio operators
For many years, local amateur radio operators have provided communications support for this event. Any OARC members interested in volunteering for this 2-day public service event should contact Nicole Boivin of the OVMRC at firstname.lastname@example.org. To cover the full length of the cycling route, Nicole is also looking for volunteers from the Seaway Valley Amateur Radio Club and the Brockville Amateur Radio Club. The event can use volunteers for one or both days – whatever fits your schedule.
This event subject to change dependent on provincial and municipal COVID-19 restrictions.
