POSTPONED TO Saturday and Sunday, July 29-30, 2023
Event postponed due to air conditions
From the organizers:
After careful consideration, the RLCT organization committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour to July 29-30, 2023.
The health and safety of all riders, organizers and volunteers is our top priority. Given the ongoing air quality concerns in Eastern Ontario, rescheduling the event was the only reasonable course of action.
It is with regret that the 50th anniversary event will not fall on the traditional RLCT weekend (the second weekend in June) but we are grateful, with the cooperation of Queen’s University, to be able to hold the event nonetheless!
About the event
The Ottawa Bicycle Club’s Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour (RLCT) – one of the country’s longest-running cycling events. This 2-day ride goes from Ottawa, through picturesque towns and villages along the Rideau Lakes waterway, to Kingston on the shores of Lake Ontario.
Call for volunteer radio operators
For many years, local amateur radio operators have provided communications support for the RLCT. Any OARC members interested in volunteering for this 2-day public service event should contact Richard Hagemeyer hagemeister@gmail.com . More information is available at https://radio-1.ca/ Note that the RLCT can use volunteers for one or both days – whatever fits your schedule.
